Wholesale Airline Inventory, Sold at Volume
Wholesale air is a margin business with thin room for error. You buy or hold seats at a net fare, layer a markup for each channel and need the stock to move quickly through sub-agents and online partners without leaking price.
- Net fare kept private, markup per channel
- Sub-agent and OTA tiers on the same stock
- Live seat counts as volume sells
- Margin visible per series and agent
How wholesale and net fares work
A wholesale or net fare is the price at which a wholesaler or consolidator acquires seats - through a negotiated contract, a series block or a group deal. It is not meant for the passenger. The wholesaler adds a markup, or sets an agent fare, before the seat reaches a retail agent or OTA.
The economics depend on volume. A small margin per seat only works when a large share of the stock sells before the release date, which is why distribution reach and speed matter as much as the buying price. For background, see how travel agents access wholesale airfares.
From net fare to sell price
An illustrative view of how one seat is priced through the chain. Actual structures depend on your contracts.
| Layer | Who sets it | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Net fare | Agreed between wholesaler and airline or upstream supplier | Wholesaler only |
| Wholesale markup | Wholesaler, by channel or tier | Wholesaler only |
| Agent or OTA fare | Net fare plus wholesaler markup | The specific sub-agent or OTA |
| Retail markup | Sub-agent or OTA | Their own customers see the final price |
Distribute one stock to many channels
The same seats can serve different buyers at different prices, as long as each sees only its own fare.
Sub-agents
Retail agencies that book for walk-in and corporate clients, often in smaller quantities.
OTA partners
Online sellers that need consistent, current inventory and clear rules.
Tour operators and DMCs
Buyers who package seats with land arrangements and often need groups on one flight.
Protect margin as volume grows
The more channels you sell through, the easier it is to lose track of what each one pays. Separate spreadsheets per channel drift apart, and a single wrong number can sell a block below cost.
On EazyPNR, markups are set as rules - per series, per tier or per agent - and calculated from the net fare you enter once. Reporting shows what sold, through which channel and at what margin.
- One net fare entered once and never shown to buyers.
- Markup rules fixed amount or per tier, applied automatically.
- Sales reporting seats sold and margin by series and agent.

Holding more seats than your agents can absorb?
List wholesale inventory to a wider pool of approved B2B buyers.
What is wholesale airline inventory?
It is airline seats held or contracted by a wholesaler or consolidator at a net fare, intended for resale through travel agents, OTAs and tour operators rather than directly to passengers.
Can different channels see different prices for the same seats?
Yes. Each tier or agent sees its own fare, calculated from your net fare plus the markup you set for them.
Can OTAs book wholesale inventory on EazyPNR?
Approved OTAs can register as agents and book the inventory distributed to them. Any system-to-system connection is arranged separately where agreed.
How do I avoid selling below cost?
Enter your net fare once and use markup rules rather than typing sell prices by hand. Agent fares are then always derived from your cost.
Is there a minimum volume to list?
There is no fixed volume rule on this page. Supplier applications are reviewed individually. Apply here.
